Join AIA|WA for the 2019 State Legislative Session
AIA Washington Council is gearing up to advocate on behalf of architects and the profession during the 2019 legislative session, which begins on January 14 in Olympia. Please click here for an overview of the issues AIA|WA expects to work on during the session. We welcome your comments on these and other issues at any time. Please contact Kirsten Smith, Policy & Advocacy Manager, at 206-957-1926 email@example.com.
We’d love to have you join our efforts on behalf of the profession in Washington. Here are some ways you can get involved:
Attend Capitol Connections
Join fellow architects from across the state for AIA|WA’s annual lobby day in Olympia on Thursday, January 24. Attendees hear about AIA|WA’s legislative agenda from staff and our contract lobbyists; meet with their personal legislators on issues important to architects; and hear from legislators working on key AIA|WA issues. Transportation expenses to Olympia are reimbursed by AIA|WA, including airfare from the east side of the state. More info.
Join a committee
Policy committees formulate AIA|WA’s policy positions and review legislation and other policy proposals as they develop. Committees are open to any member and meetings always include a conference call option. Most committees meet fewer than once per month, except during the legislative session, when they meet more frequently by email or conference call. Current policy committees may be found here.
If you would like to attend and represent your district please contact Stephanie Aden or Corey Zachow
