Angela Bigotti is a Principal of Van Woert Bigotti Architects in Reno, Nevada. Born and raised in Nevada, she received a Bachelor of Science in Design degree and a Master of Architecture Degree from Arizona State University. Since becoming a partner in her firm in 1999, she leads most of the firm’s design efforts. Angela gained diverse experience leading the firm’s work for Religious, Academic, and Research based projects. Her design leadership has earned the firm numerous AIA Nevada Honor awards, sustainability awards, and several prestigious design awards in the western region. Angela was the recipient of the Young Architect Citation for AIA Nevada in 2000. For over 25 years, she has created architecture that reaches beyond function and form, transforming the practicalities of space into enlightened architectural environments. The shaping of both material and light combined with contextual innovation takes her projects from the ordinary to the extraordinary for an “everyday uniqueness” that resonates with both public and private clients. This lack of pretense carries into her service to her profession and her community earning her the AIA Service to the Profession Award. Angela has served as President for both the northern Nevada and Nevada State Chapters of the American Institute of Architects. Her active involvement in the community, contributes to various quality of life causes and numerous civic and educational committees and organizations.
