Belt Street Spokane, WA 99205 Messiah Lutheran Church invites you to attend an “Ice Cream Social” honoring Bill Trogdon, FAIA and his colleagues for his design of Messiah Lutheran Church 55 Years ago, in 1961. They welcome you to this event to honor Bill on his 91 ½ year birthday. at their 10am worship service in their sanctuary where Harold Balazs designed and created one of the largest Christian symbols of any in the Northwest U.S. churches and synagogues with his art. See, feel and touch his unique concrete sculptures and “enamel on copper” artwork that were his specialty, also created 55 years ago, while the building was being constructed. Special music will be provided by organist, Chris Nelson, featuring their German Werner-Bosch pipe organ. Bill Trogdon, FAIA and his colleagues will be honored on July 31 in the Fellowship Hall immediately after worship with an “Ice Cream Social” hosted by the Messiah Endowment Committee. A 30 minute digital photography program of his favorite design projects located within the Inland Empire will be presented by Doctor Otto Stevens. Bill was involved with many projects in the area some of which may be new to you. Unlimited time will follow for visiting, fellowship and story-telling among colleagues and friends. View the flyer.
